Metal Braces — The Gold Standard, Refined
Metal braces use precision-engineered stainless steel brackets bonded to each tooth and connected by a flexible archwire that guides tooth movement over time. Dr. Mansour uses a high-quality bracket system manufactured from 17-4 medical-grade stainless steel using a metal injection molding (MIM) process — the same manufacturing standard used in aerospace and medical device engineering.
Each bracket features a low-profile design with smooth rounded tie wings, a compound contour base for accurate tooth-surface fit, and full rotational control. Brackets are tied with soft elastic ligatures — giving Dr. Mansour precise, hands-on control over the forces applied to each tooth throughout your treatment.
Why elastic ligatures? Dr. Mansour uses elastic ligatures rather than self-ligating brackets because they provide superior clinical control. Self-ligating systems use an automated sliding mechanism — but hands-on control through ligatures lets Dr. Mansour fine-tune the force and direction applied to each individual tooth at every appointment. The result: more predictable movement, more precise outcomes.

Ceramic Braces — Subtle, Effective, Specialist-Guided
Ceramic braces function identically to metal braces but use tooth-colored or clear brackets that blend with the natural shade of your teeth. For patients who want the precision and reliability of braces with a more discreet appearance — particularly adults and older teens — ceramic braces are an excellent option.
Dr. Mansour will advise whether ceramic braces are right for your specific case. Ceramic brackets can be slightly more prone to staining from coffee, tea, and certain foods, so they are recommended for motivated patients who are diligent about oral hygiene and dietary care during treatment.

Children (Early Treatment)
The AAO recommends an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. For some children, early interceptive treatment — Phase 1 braces — can correct jaw development issues, reduce crowding, and simplify or eliminate the need for more extensive treatment later. Dr. Mansour will tell you honestly if early treatment is needed or if monitoring is the right approach.
Teens
The most common time for braces — and the most fun. Teens have the full range of options at SPOCS: metal braces with colored elastics, WildSmiles® designer brackets, or ceramic braces for a subtler look. Dr. Mansour designs treatment to fit real teen lifestyles — sports, social life, and all.
Adults

Custom Treatment Plan
Every braces treatment plan at SPOCS is built specifically for you. Dr. Mansour considers your bite complexity, growth stage, aesthetic preferences, and lifestyle in designing a plan that achieves the outcome you want in the most efficient way possible.

Braces Placement
Bracket bonding is a straightforward, non-invasive appointment. Your teeth are gently cleaned and prepared, brackets are bonded to each tooth with a dental-grade adhesive, and the archwire is placed. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the process is.

Progress Appointments Every 8–12 Weeks
At each progress appointment, Dr. Mansour adjusts your archwire and checks your tooth movement. You’ll also get to change your elastic colors at every visit — one of the perks of braces. Appointments are efficient and always with Dr. Mansour, not a rotating associate.

Debanding & Retainers
When your teeth reach their target positions, your braces are removed at a debanding appointment. Dr. Mansour takes final records and photographs, and your retainers are placed — clear removable or bonded fixed, as prescribed. You’ll also have the option to add Philips Zoom™ whitening ($500) to complete your transformation.
